June Happenings

Almost half way thru June already, wow, where is the time going?

Sue took off to Indy for a mentorship program at Riley Hospital - CF clinic, she got to spend a few days with my family while there. I couldn't make it given that my new job just started up and we're going to be heading back that way for a short visit in July. She got to fly home on her birthday, June 10th, long trip - she was tired.

This past Saturday, Justin did his first Sprint tri all by himself. 300m swim, 11.5 m bike followed by a 5k run. He finished in nice time 1:40, it started out rainy but ended up half way decent, not sunny by any means but drier. He followed up his Triathlon with 3 games of Lacrosse at the Bingham Miner Classic in S. Jordan. Needless to say, Saturday evening came and he was exhausted as well.

Travis has been working on his car, his 06 Subaru WRX, clean clean clean. In the downtime from the WRX, he's been tooling around in the Jeep Wrangler, yeah, it still rocks.

Ali just got done with her Volleyball Camp, I also took her in last week to get her belly button pierced, yeah, what a great dad I am huh :)

Sue and I are taking off Friday for Moab, a short little get a way for a few days, no kids. We're rafting down the Colorado - Westwater Canyon. Can't wait.

Pics to come later.

May comes to a close.....

May came to a close. First time for us in 4 years that we haven't had our sprinklers on yet, it's been so wet it feels like we're back in IL. As Sue says, "enough already, give me the sun" It's coming dear, along with the 90's and humidity, wait, it's Utah, no humidity :)

Took a short jaunt up to Boise ID this past Memorial Day weekend. The whole purpose for the trip was going to http://www.zipidaho.com/ Fantastic time. If you get a chance, do it, you'll enjoy it. I didn't zip cuz of weight requirements and fear of heights. check out my facebook page for the video as well as more pictures. Sue and kids had a good time. It's a series of 6 zip lines, starting out on a platform a few feet off ground you zip to tree (photo on here), from there you zip to 2 more trees before heading to a ground landing on the 4th one. The 5 zip line (wild turkey) takes you 1700 feet over a "canyon" and about 100' off the ground (hence my fear of heights) to another ground landing. The 6th and final one is 1800' long where you race whoever you'd like as it's a double line (not on the same line) 2 lines next to each other. Like I said, if you get the chance, try it, it's fun.

Took a drive before the Zipline to Crouch ID, nice little town, the drive took us along the Northern Payette, past the Staircase rapids, would def. like to boat down that one someday.

ID is a nice State to visit, nice scenery where we were, however, windy as all get out on the way up and the way home, felt like we were in WY or NE on the way back to IL. Speaking of way back, we're heading back to IL and IN for a visit with both sets of parents July 2nd to the 11th. Looking forward to that, it's been way too long.

Sue is making a trip in to Indy next week for a Cystic Fibrosis Mentoring program. She applied last year but wasn't selected. This year she was accepted and it just so happens to be in Indy where the center is. She's going to be staying with my parents while in town and no mom, I'm not coming in!! :(

Justin is winding down his Lacrosse season, pic attached. He's had a good season, lots of goals and tons of assists, he's sort of the team leader when he's playing, which is quite often. I hope he continues to pursue this passion, he's really a good little player. I use the term little as it is true until he grows.....we keep waiting, Junior year maybe :)

That's it for now!!
